Olbers' Paradox

Like the sun in a drowsy day,
You come to twinkle
And off you go away;
With no warmth-like the twilight,
Like the stars at night!
Nor with a biting cold-in-gloom
That ends the world with a Big Boom!
On and off- rise and set- at a glance
With a rare parsimony of balance...

Tempus fugit

Truth be known, tempus fugit,
And all of us with it.
Moments of passion for glory,
Days of ecstasy and sorrow,
Greed and invincibility today,
Confusion and fear of tomorrow…
For times that go by unhindered,
Leaving us all behind!
Is this a struggle for survival,
Or vanity of  some kind?
For what I think in earnest,
Vanity is the seed of all desire;
Encapsulated by ignorance,
Waiting, in time, to expire.

I, Me & Myself

'Know no more about me;
I, me and myself, in all,
Than the perturbations of thoughts and feels
That, everyday, rise and fall.

I am the will and the idea
Of a deus ex machina that be
I do not know, I cannot tell
What it entails to be me.

It's OK

It's ok to be happy,
It's ok to be sad;
It's ok to smile,
It's ok to feel bad;
For these are the gifts of life
Only while life is being had...
Though the grimmest realization of all,
It's funny that I know;
That I am a transient being today
An eternal nonbeing tomorrow;
It's ok to fail, and it's ok to thrive
Through the dying of today,
To keep tomorrow alive.

Why, Damascus?

Are you blood thirsty, Damascus,
Why let your citizens mourn,
Should your children die in cold blood,
Should the hypocritic world see this in scorn?
Why all these mortars and shells,
Why all this artillery shower;
Should a thousand children die
To keep a narcissist in power?
Why all these myriad of people
Why all these innocent children;
Who neither have an iota of fighting whims
Nor the legs strong enough to run?
Is that what you learnt from history
Is that all your long life has taught
Why,  Damascus, why
Is human life such a nought?

The World as Idea

The light of day has come
Because the darkness of day is gone;
Does it have anything to do
With light over darkness having won?

The World as Will

You and  me, now and here,
These  and those, there a yonder,
Some yesterday, some tomorrow,
Some delighted, some in sorrow,
All alive, just in time,
In ephemeral harmony and rhythm,
That's how we roll in style,
For eternity's erstwhile.
