Korea, North and South

There is a place so contrasted on Mother Earth's east side,
That millennia-old siblings have now chosen to divide;
It was a place of happy marriage since times of aeons old,
Until a mad epoch of human history came about to unfold:
Madly in love with power came the patrons of destruction,
In disregard to human life they took a wanton, bellicose action.
The patrons took peaceful brothers on two sides of a fight,
And told them to fuel the senseless war with no end in sight.
The winner patron with bigger ego made it sure it be known,
That the siblings of a common history have differences full blown.
Those people, North and South, that once a Korea made
Are as different as one can think, as far away as one can tread.
