When I die, if I die,
When you come, if you come
To wish me best or say goodbye
I want you know and know it best
What you see is grains of dust;
Grains of dust that but someway
Luckily in me saw light of day...
I, light of day used or missed,
But forever bound to the stars,
Wish to go fast and safe
Leaving no earthly scars.
So when I die, if I die,
If you come to wish me best
Would you make me earth-bound
Under your feet in the ground,
Or send me home in ashy light
And look me up every night?
But burn me not alive
For if I don't, the stars don't call
Together we live the bounteous days
Starstuff, but happy and whole.
