The redline

So many lines I have been told,
Some bottom, under, some  red;
I am confused as to which to fear,
And which fine lines to tread.
A little tip for a long way,
Unaware of I might have been;
Tell  me which lines of yours  are grey,
And which ones,  full of green?

Africa's cry

You made me cry for aeons,
That I forever bleed, you made so sure;
You stripped me of all my haves,
And you labeled me a lazy poor.
By your bigoted systems and laws,
You made me numb so I cannot talk;
By the weapons of sheer paucity,
You crippled me so I cannot walk.
You made it your job
To make your fun,
Seeing me fall while I run.
You felt messianic when I cried for help,
You gave me crumbs  when I had no food;
And now forever indebted  for life,
You want me poor  so you'll feel good?

Eye-for-eye

Bloody tears from a bleeding heart,
Why worth are they a shade;
If the eyes that see are dry,
And the hearts that feel, evade?

Self image

Once upon a time, as it always has been,
The world was too scary a place to explore,
It was unbearable for man-the-wise,
To live with all the tribulations of life galore.
So all the same, too weak to manage,
Man created god in his own image.
This robotic god, controlled by man,
Passed on to generations, time and time again,
Is called upon for control of man, by man,
Or for a quick fix of worldly pain.
This god-the-wise, so human-like
Full of flaws-all the world you see,
Man devised it to be perfect and just-
As silly and  contradictory a human can be?

Tempus, adhuc fugit.

Time impartial, immortal change,
For rich or poor, big or small;
It's the one thing with power,
That defeats each, and all.
OK, time is impartial at beginning or end,
But very biased in between:
It often decides before the game,
Who shall lose the game, or win.

Passenger-captain-ship-ocean

I am a lone passenger in a lone ship,
In the ebb and flow of the sea;
I am the captain who stirs the wheels,
And the ocean, the life, is me.
I rise, I fall, I swim or drown,
The success is ours, the fault my own.
I am a traveller in life,
And the life is mine to lead;
I am the ship who carries me-both,
And the ocean in whom I tread.
In search of me, by me, through me,
Up and running on a long trail;
I am the passenger, captain-on-ship,
And the destination to which I sail.

One in two

Now and here, all but for  real,
Testing your taste, feeling your feel;
Sensing your touch, seeing your sight,
All alone, in the void of the night;
Your warm whispers felt in my ears,
Seeing your eyes laden with tears;
Feeling your touches down my spine,
Inhaling your breath with mine;
I know it well, and I hope we best,
Put the confusion of twoness to rest.

Selfish

It's sad those times have gone
When being kind was a virtue;
These days it's all about me and mine
Whatever it's  that you have or do.
Crazy world awash with selfish people
In what crazy times we live;
When all those hands out know to take,
No souls in there learn to give.
