On consolation of the game

Too much noise, too little deeds
Naught thoughts that matter,
Screen- bound eyes that watch
Wide-open mouths that chatter.
Empty lives without vision,
Deserted souls in despair,
Ignorance-clad minds,
Consoled by waves on air.
Their Weltanschauung shaped
By what they watch, not do,
Is this what tomorrow's fate
Plays out to fall through?
Most important, to say the least,
Is it on games they console,
To lead their fantasy  lives,
With neither a script nor a rôle!?

Irony

The more I learn
The less I know,
The less I discern,
And more I grow.
The more I watch
And more I scout
The less I catch,
And more I doubt.
'Higher my wage
The less I share,
The more I age
And less I care.

Utopia

There is this gene in all of us
That makes us a human kind,
And yet exists this unknown force
That divides us all than bind...
If we treated all men alike,
And lived in love and peace,
We had all the things we need
For a world of eternal bliss.
It's all in the humanity,
It's in being all-kind,
That we grow together
And happiness all we find.
This is the world I envisage:
A world free of hate,
Where someone's success
Makes another feel great.
In a world I perceive as safe,
In a society I call free,
One doesn't wage a war,
When neighbors disagree.
In the Utopia I dream of
Where all is free to will,
As none wants to die,
None dares to kill.
Reciprocity rules the rules
In Utopian version of humanhood,
Untold, by free will,
I do what in others I see as good;
And what, I know, hate and despise
To do unto others is unwise.

I love you more

"I love you once, I love you twice,
More than beans and rice."
I love you now, I'll love you later,
More than  wine and water.
I love your eyes,  I love your hair,
More than the  light and air.
Your  shadow I love,  I love  your trace,
And love I do your smiling face.
I love you far, I love you near,
You are my life's sole souvenir.
In peace, in love, as much in war,
Is what the shield of my love is for.
I love you sick, I love you well,
More than vows and rings tell.
I love you true,  I love you real,
Deeper than the  urges we feel.

The exclusion principle

The rich and poor of this world,
They never meet in town;
One is busy, climbing the ladder of hope,
The other, going back down.
The rich and poor from the start,
They are at ease with apartheid;
Yes, the facts decide the norm,
But the word, wrong and right.

Outsider

On a planet I called my home,
In a world I thought mine,
I am a persona non grata
Dismembered by design.
I have no say in matters of worth,
Despite all the sweats and  toils,
Oh but for a slave of my calibre,
Suffice crumbs from the spoils!
Undue spoils of barbarism,
Sheer powers of blind hate,
Embodied in powers that be,
To try and control my fate.

Hypocritia

Grievances and dissent galore,
But one in a million is a pinch of salt;
Salts that do not taste for their sake,
Shall be thrown in revolt.
A zillion strong with no sense of taste,
All but blaming in haste;
With dead taste buds and senses of shame,
Dead they live, and die the same.
They look at you with scorn,
Their ignorance they  hide;
Oh, welcome to Hypocritia,
In emptiness they pride.

Share me your dreams

Make me part of your eventful days,
And tell me 'bout your nightly dreams;
Let me laugh with your joy,
And partake in your screams.
I make a vow,
Here and now:
The broken past I cannot mend;
Say anything from hereon,
And I'll listen till time's end.

Keep looking high

Sweet human, beauteous being,
Always forward, on the move,
Dream big, don't wait till
How high you fly others approve.
Fly high, look up and breathe afresh,
Keep those afar that drag you down,
Let the world know that the paths you take,
And the targets you  aim at, you own.
Dream big, fly the highest you wish,
Let your stories forever be told,
For the imminent drags along your way,
Be unflinchingly bold.
Drive on, you beautiful soul,
Your life deserves the best of days,
But look out for turns and bumps,
Along all walks and 'ways.

Good or fair?

Life is good, for all I know,
Whoever said it's fair?
If you choose fair over good,
'Try death out to compare?

The conference principle

Desperate  days, funny times
Silly rules of a humanly game:
For every crisis that comes about,
Do create more of the same!
If financial crises bother the world,
Do travel, meet up in cozy hotels,
Set the agenda for when and where,
And what the next meet entails.
If climate change freaks you out,
Fly in droves from shore to shore,
Choose the best resort in town,
And warm it up a little more.
If wars trouble, plan a summit, set forth
A dead-end bound week long vote,
And to double a cool time of  excursion
Make sure you find a place of note.

The Exam (2)

On a typical exam day,
When you want to know my learnt worth,
I sit down in wonder, eyes rolling up and down,
Mind slipping back and forth;
Down the one-way memory lane,
Spitting out what comes across,
Through the tip of the pen.
I never claimed I knew a thing,
You want to know if I crammed,
Am I to blame, if stuck,
For oftentimes the road is jammed?

In black and white

It could be me, tone blind,
But, for all the colours I know,
In no humanly kind and form
Black and white skins I saw;
(Forgive my ignorance, I take
Black as coal and white as snow.)
(And for what it’s worth
And for all I care,
How do non-spectral
Non-colours compare?)
